OUR MISSION
The purpose of this congregation shall be to serve its members and to spread the kingdom of God by preaching the Word of God, by the administration of the Sacraments, and by the religious instruction of children, youth, and adults, according to the confessional standard of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (Article III), and to foster Christian fellowship and charity both in church and community.
Article III - Confessions
This congregation acknowledges and accepts all the canonical books of the old and new testaments as the revealed Word of God, verbally inspired, and acknowledges and accepts all the Confessional Writings of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, contained in the Book of Concord of the year 1580, to be the true and genuine exposition of the doctrines of the Bible. These Confessional Writings are the three Ecumenical Creeds (Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian), the Unaltered Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles, Luther's Large and Small Catechisms, and the Formula of Concord.
HOW WE GROW
We walk together knowing we are saved by Grace alone, through Faith alone, and in the Bible alone.
We believe in the Holy Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation of Faith, and Holy Communion. By following Jesus as a faithful servant, we will grow in our Christian faith and love one another as He taught us.
We enjoy Bible Studies and often share these studies with our sister congregation, Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Our next study series is the Alpha Course beginning September 16.

OUR COMMUNITY
Christ Lutheran is active in the local community through donations, volunteering time, and partnering with county organizations to help our neighbors. We also support mission work for non-profit organizations around the world.

History of Christ Lutheran Church
On August 12, 1931 a small group gathered in a little school house 3 miles northeast of White Cloud, Michigan in order to organize a congregation. The meeting opened with prayer and words from the Bible offered by Pastor F. W. Wiese of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Big Rapids. Pastor Wiese served as the acting chairman and Lorenz Lass provided assistance as temporary secretary. At this meeting it was decided to call the congregation Christ Lutheran Evangelical Lutheran Church of White Cloud. A constitution and by-laws were adopted with Harry Paulsen making the motion and seconded by August Doering. The constitution was signed and officers were elected. On October 1, 1931 a meeting was called to order by Reverend Edward Lang, who served from 1931-1939, and it was moved and supported that each member give a dollar a month to help pay the pastor's salary! Christ Lutheran continued to grow in the White Cloud community and for many years also provided a preschool. Today, Christ Lutheran continues to serve the community and visitors of White Cloud and the surrounding area, teaching the Word of God to children, youth, and adults.
